In the (old) course Art of Sculpting in Blender, it is said that we have to download an add-on named Sculpt Tools UI. I installed it but I don't see it. I have Blender 4.0. The purpose is: I want to extract a mask. I can see that option under Mask but it is gray; I can't use it.
I think that addon has been out of commission for a while, so you can't use it, but I believe Blender has all those functionalities by default nowadays. Yes under Mask you want to use Mask Extract, just be sure you have a mask on your mesh and it should be ready to use:
Thank you for your answer.
I could see Mask Extract but couldn't apply it (it was gray, then disabled). But I've just found why: Dyntopo was on!
Well... I still have a problem. I can «extract the mask» but I don't have the same effect as in the Art of Sculpting course. I get just an orange contour shape which looks empty and I don't know what to do with it (I don't understand the parameters). (I should have gotten, let's say, a thick new object with the same shape of the mask...)
Hi Martin. It took me a while to find that I had to click on Modifier in order to see what you show on your screenshot! (I thought it should appear while I extract the mask...) But now, I understand more. I've made some tests and yes, it works as you say. ☺️ Thank you!
