Bevel issue

At the end of the video when I view my bevel back on it caused some weird geometry at the speaker. How do I fix this?

So quick update actually. I did mess with the amount bevel to a 0.06 cm and it did clean that up. Not the exact same bevel settings as yours, but I think it’s fine either way. Still i am curious as to what caused that weird geometry on the speaker.

    Hi Ricardo,

That is caused by Vertices that are close together before the Bevel...the might 'overlap'.

Here is a Cube (2x2x2), with different Bevel sizes:

Your bevel amount will be different to the instructor if your speaker holes are closer to the outer edge,
and as Spikey said, causing the overlapping vertices when adding the bevel.

Basically you have to always be mindful where you put your loops, how you model shapes, check the direction of your normals, specially when using modifiers such as Bevel, since it'll tend to cause a mess if you're not careful. You get used to it the more mistakes you make, you start to get the hang of it and where to expect errors and how to correct them or model before hand with that into account so it doesn't happen.

try changing your bevel modifier Miter Outer to patch instead of sharp
