Cat Eye shape when insetting A and B buttons

Could you please provide some more information. One or more screenshots as well, if possible.

(And are you in Top Orthographic View? Is your Scale Applied?)

For example: Inset Circle, with Scale not Applied:

Most likely the scale is not applied (1,1,1)

Yeah, that's my Doctor Blender diagnosis as well. Control + A to apply the scale. Take one of those and your inset will feel better instantly.
