Layer Painter 2 ?

Has anyone some experience with the Layer Painter 2 add-on for Blender. I was interested in texturing my motorcycle with that tool, but the again I don’t no how to apply procedural textures to different parts. Is this meant to draw all the different parts in manually by hand for the different maps (roughness, bump, etc.) or is it easier to make for every part a different materiel on its own?

Thanks for any input!

    Hi kkmichaux ,

I am sorry, but I don't have experience with that Addon, but I think you should refrain from using third party Addons at this stage in your education...it sort of defeats the purpose, I think...

Hi Martin, thanks fir the swift reply. Indeed I see what you mean and I will definately try it the classic way as shown in the video tutorials. Thanks again

It is best to learn how without add-ons,
If an add-on breaks with a new Blender version, you probably won't have the knowledge to survive without it.

Thanks for your good advice. Now I have another problem. I painted everything in EVEE and when I switch to Cycles, all of a sudden all the textures and colors are turning black. What could that be?

    HI kkmichaux ,

The first thing that comes to my mind, its that you don't have (a, or) enough light in your Scene...EEVEE (at least in Material Preview) uses an HDRI by default...

Hi There, I just tried to switch the cycles engine to experimental and the all of a sudden it worked out with all the colors showing up!! Thanks a lot for your help!! Blender is such a nice piece of software but somethings these little things make you crazy. :-)

Oh, that is super weird! I have no idea why switching to Experimental would make a difference here...
