Loop cut issue

These loopcuts aren't going into the other face, it skips to the face on the very top but not through the middle face to get the entire loop

any idea as to whats happened here?

    Hi Angel AAngelwheel ,

Loop Cuts go through opposite sides of Quads (Faces with 4 Edges). As soon as they encounter a Triangle (face with 3 Edges) or N-Gon (more than 4 Edges), they 'terminate". The Faces "above' and 'below' are N-Gons. That's what is happening.

I highly recommend to watch or re-watch the Blender Basics: https://cgcookie.com/courses/blender-basics-an-introduction-to-blender-4-x (especially

It is so full of information, that (I think) noone can remember that after one time viewing (some of it will only make sense later in your Blender journey).

EDIT: as those Faces don't look like N-Gons (but they most likely are), you might have some double Vertices...Select A(ll) and M > Merge > By Distance.

    Darn dastardly double vertices!

I always say Press Start is not all that beginner like, it goes forward breaking all the modeling rules and to break the rules you need to first understand the rules. The Mesh Modeling Bootcamp is also a good watch:

WOW, there was a single double vert I didn't spot and had to increase the merge distance for. Thank you everyone!

I think it's good i run into these issues now, it is very different experiencing it and having to fix it, than just watching it being explained!!

Totally agree AAngelwheel I've spent a few years studying blender and just recently started actually creating with it. I should have created while I was learning.
