fill only filling portion?

I've grabbed all the vertices after the first fill and it only fills the right side as opposed to the entire highlighted area, when i click F again it fills terribly

like this, what am i doing wrong?

    Hi Angel AAngelwheel ,

My fiirst guess would be, that you have some 'double Vertices'.

Select everything (with A) in Edit Mode, and then M > Merge > By Distance. See if that helps.

Yeah that would be my guess too.

    Solution

Well also that is quite the big selection, Blender can have a hard time thinking what in the world does he want me to do with all of this? Try manually selecting more conservative portions of the mesh and filling.

Thank you for the help! Still not sure what exactly messed it up (i suspect the vertices from the buttons and notch) but, merging by distance and then filling in smaller sections worked

spikeyxxx I'm further along now and just realized i had snap to vertices on still, could that have been the issue?

    Hi Angel AAngelwheel ,

Vertex Snapping shouldn't affect the Fill (normally), but I did notice that your Selection seems to have been wrong; this Vertex shouldn't be Selected:

That's at least part of what created the crazy mess, when you used F the second time...

After Merging, and with the right Selection, the area should Fill correctly in one go, but it doesn't harm to cut it up in some smaller areas, like Omar suggested.
