I still don't understand what the red parts mean. What happens if you texture with a lot of red parts? How about some before and after photos?

Red means that the area is too large in the UV viewport in relation to the size of the face in the 3D model, therefore your texture won't look good. You can prove it if you scale the red face in proportion it will turn red. Hope it helps.
