Press Start - snapping vertex don't work

Hi, I'm trying to align the top vertex with the bottom vertex (Creating the cartridge slot - 1:40), but nothing happens when holding control. I've made sure snapping is on and on vertex.

Using Blender 4.0.1

    Hey Borgelin,
    If you enabled snapping (toggled blue) then CTRL will disable snapping.
    With snapping off (toggled grey) hold CTRL to activate snapping.

    Because snapping is often used as a single event quickly, turning it on and off is excessive work.

    Thanks for the quick reply, Adrian.

    Unfortunately CTRL doesn't do anything wether I have snapping toggled or not. I'm doing exactly what Jonathan is doing in the video, but to no avail.

    I used the scale-trick to get the perfect shape for now.

    Hi Borgelin ,

    It took me a while to get Snapping to work as well (long, long time ago...);

    Here's an example of the 'workflow': Select a Vertex, G, Z to move it down on the Z-Axis and then, while holding CTRL (Snapping (Magnet) not enabled), hover your Mouse Pointer over another Vertex (that has the correct Z height). So, your Mouse Pointer doesn't stay with the Vertex you are moving!

    I hope this helps.

    Yeah the key that is hard at the start to grasp, is that you need to hoover your mouse over another vertex for the snapping to take effect. If nothing is working, try doing a screengrab video and upload it so we can see the thing in action.
