Hi, I am new to Blender, I am adding edge loops to the start of the hub (like 4:30-ish in the video), I'm wondering how to create the same edge loops on both sides of the hub. I tried selecting the initial edge loops on both sides of the hub and using Ctrl+R, but it only allows me to make an edge loop on one side or another, so I'm not sure what I can do since I don't think I'm meant to manually do the same steps again on both sides... will I just have to create both loops manually, then select both of those loops and do the modifications together?
HI Nolan NNuolong ,
The idea here, is to do it manually on both sides (for practice).
In 'real life' you'd probably use a Mirror Modifier on the hub, so you'd only need to model one side.
And if you are still thinking if you can do edge loops on both sides at the same time, no you can't sadly. When you hit Control + R to make a loop cut, you can only do them one at a time. It's more than enough though, I've never felt the need to make more than one cut at the same time. One cool little trick is that when you have a loop selected, if you go Control + Shift + R, it will split the loop in two, leaving the original one there.
