Hello hello. Normally is hard for people to respond to this type of calling here. Maybe you can have more luck on the CG Cookie Discord, there's more people there. Maybe it is not permitted to use Discord for that? I don't know, I'm supposed to know the rules but Adrian knows them better. He'll say if it is possible or not.

Have you at least any basic drawing skills? What level are you? Have you practiced portraiture, still life, life drawing, etc?

Have you done blind contour drawing before? It's an old-school training for traditional art students. Blind contour drawing trains your muscle memory and enhances your sense of co-ordination between your eyes & hand. It also trains your observation.

For starter, I give you few tips in pencil sketching on paper. They're free.

Rule #1: Hold your pencil properly so to avoid Artist's Callus and hand cramps. When sketching, hold the pencil with a light grip; otherwise, you can get hand cramps after long hours of sketching, meaning you're holding the pencil the wrong way. See Youtube for tutorials. Keywords: "How to hold a pencil properly."

Rule #2: Draw all your outlines first and leave your shading always to the very last. That way, you will have less erasing to do, whenever you make errors or wish to make changes.

Rule #3: No hairy outlines allowed. Draw your outlines boldly. Force yourself to do so, if you lack confidence. You have to get bold to get confidence. Fight your fear with persistence. Be casual and relax. You can do it. Practise freehand drawing shapes like ovals, cylinders, cones, tear drops, heart shapes, pear shapes, flower petals, etc. Remember, it is only a practice, not a competition. Now, practise drawing your lines boldly and resist hairy outlines.

Rule #4: Practise mental visualisation regularly. That helps you beat Artist's Block and plan works mentally. Always visualise artworks before ever approaching your blank canvas. Mental visualisation is not as difficult as you think. When you read interesting books with gripping stories, words themselves spur on your imagination and conjure images in your mind's eye. Does that happen for you?

If you can draw simple ovals, circles, cones, cylinders, bulbs, sausages, etc, then you can actually draw people and animals, when you combine simple shapes together.

If you want art books, check out the website Open Library which is free to join and digital borrowing is free. There, you can find vintage art books by authors like Andrew Loomis.
