Red Eye effect in my model

When making my eyes for my human I noticed that viewing the man at different angles causes the red eye effect that we commonly see when taking photographs in real life.image.pngIt's fine with just the front view of the cameraimage.png

Is there a way to fix this? When I go into local view for the eyes they are perfectly fine, so if anyone has any ideas on what to do, it would be great.

    Solution

    Hi Rein,

    I haven't seen that before...

Maybe try and reduce the Subsurface Scattering of the skin..that seems a bit too strong anyway.

Also try switching out HDRIs to see if that changes anything.

Also try isolating the eyes, go into local view, hide parts, see if it's back faces, see if it's the lighting, in other words try isolating things to see if it goes away at some point, that way you'll know what's causing it. It may be a mesh thing, a shading ting in the material. Turn things off and on, eventually you'll hit it and say aha, there it is, and you can remove it.

Lowering the subsurface scattering radius values seems to have fixed most of it, at very specific angles it still seems to show up but I don't think i'll ever point a camera at those angles anyway, so I think i'll consider the problem solved
