Hi so I scaled down my character's head to 9.1 inches as according to Kent in the human course, and then I hit apply scale to all objects, reseting the scale to 1.0. However the camera's scale does not reset to 1. at first I thought this was fine until I rendered my image for testing and it turns out to be completely black. After a bit of checking around I found that the problem was that the camera's actual size at scale 1 (x,y,z) straight up encompasses the entire head.
scaling the camera back down to a smaller size and putting it in front of his face does not work as it results in a completely black render. pushing it back all the way does not focus on his face but hey at least i'll have a render
and on the 3d viewport it's not overtaking his body
uhat least it's not completely black but I have no idea what to do at this point. Should I just scale the human body up and say goodbye to natural human measurements just for a nice portrait, or is there something else I should try?
Thanks,
-Rein Kameryu
PS: this guy is my first project so I'm not worried if he's not perfect nor very detailed, but for the future when I do this again it would be preferred if I knew how to set myself up for success.
Hi Rein,
Camera Scaling has no effect, unless you go into negative Values (that will 'flip' the image).
I actually suspect your Shirt, that is hidden in the Viewport, but still Renders:
Maybe you didn't Scale that and it is still huge...blocking the Light (black Render) until you move the Camera back far enough and then it Renders part of the shirt, that still doesn't have a Material...(white Render).
P.S. it could also be something in Collection, that does the same thing...
It was something in collection that was blocking the camera, i happened to leave my original sculpt in the scene. Thank you
