Assigning /unassigning vertices to vertex groups

Im trying to unselect the wing vertices from the group so theyre not shrinkwrapped, i shift select the vertices i want , highlight the group in data properties and click remove (next to assign) but nothing seems to happen , thx

Hey Jojo ,
The remove button should work fine.
Note this does not deselect the vertices, so it looks like nothing happens.
Press ALT+A to deselect everything, then press the select button under vertex groups.
You now see they are indeed removed from the group.

Hi Jonathan,

nothing wrong with your Vertex Group, but you have the Invert Button enabled in the Shrinkwrap Modifier:

This means it excludes the body Vertex Group from the Shrinkwrap and only Shrinkwraps the wings.

oh yeah, i clicked that thinking it did something else, turns out my offset is too high
