Hi everyone! :)
I was wondering if I can use the multires modifier in combination with an armature and pose my model after sculpting in the details, without having everything destroyed.
I have a base mesh which I want to pose in two different ways, once I´m done with detailing. Retopology is not an option, since the model is meant for 3D printing.
Thank you!
Hi Ingrid Fide ,
That should be possible (if the Poses are not too extreme). Make sure the Armature Modifier is above the Multires Modifier.
It 'll probably work best when you first set up the Armature and Bone Weights, before you start sculpting, but maybe it might also be possible to add the Armature after Sculpting (still, put the Armature Modifier above the Multires for best results).
Also Sculpt Mode has brushes for posing that might help you out a lot. Here's a lesson of Kent doing a small demonstration:
Hey Martin, thanks for the answer. That´s how I´ll try it :)
dostovel that´s what I would normally do, but the changes are too drastic. I think using the Posebrush would be really cumbersome and won´t give me the desired results this time
Hey everyone!
Here´s an update on the Multires+ Armature:
As you can see, it works pretty well :)
I can sculpt with symmetry, pose my model and even can provide different poses with ease for 3D printing!
Hi Omar,
It lags quiet a bit, when I pose the character.
I posed it before starting with the sculpt and only have to make small adjustments now. So it´s no big deal for me, I´m glad that it works at all.
Blender didn´t crash at all so far.
