After some time with these cg cookie courses I have a better understanding of how much time is needed to fully digest the content and here is my updated schedule from the last time. I know there isn't too strict of a way to learn but being organized and prepared is my way of learning! My main goal is animating but I will also learn lighting, 3d environments and eventually geometry node stuff lol. Any other courses or posts that would help me along the way I would appreciate the advice or if I should switch some up! I will still update this with new courses and for other reasons. I have plenty of people to be looking into on YouTube and addons as well :)
Dangs man, I wish I was that organized. I barely have my life planned for what I'm going to do in the next 6 hours, after that I'm like well, what ever comes comes, I'm cool with it. I guess the only thing I would say is that if you break away of the schedule, don't beat yourself too hard, just adapt.
Yea I’m not too focused on being straight on as there are many things to cover on this website, YouTube, and personal projects! You should see my other notes :)
One thing I'd suggest is to practice whatever lessons you learn.
One of my mistakes was jumping from course to course too quickly.
If you take a shading course and don't make sure you apply what you learned, then you'll kind of lose that knowledge over time.
The same applies to lighting.
Modeling is where everything starts, but if you take lighting and shading make sure to practice with most your projects.
Edit: If you're an animator you don't need to make your own models, you can use somebody else's, but a model needs to exist before you can animate it.
true about modeling, everything will be easier with addons and procedural stuff. I plan to make my lighting look good before I animate, learning the right way before addons with that. I do plan to practice with my own projects whatever I learn! I know the basics of modeling which will do me good for now as I want to know more about indoor and outdoor scene creation along with animating after lighting! Though I will be adjusting the timeline with personal projects I find myself doing!
Thanks Paul. Finished up the house animation that is on the channel and here and started the animation bootcamp fully in October. I keep updating the schedule but I now know the bootcamp course is going to take longer than a month for me ha.
You're doing great; such self-organization requires significant effort.
Thanks logan, I am switching things up big time with the schedule. I started the animation bootcamp in october as said before but I am only just starting the squash and stretch section with he course with a lot to go still. But I know understanding the fundamentals is very important so I am okay to spend months on this one course and since I have a 10-12 hour day job as well. I have also been messing around with geometry nodes and simulations in blender.
