My Shrink-wrapped body is sort of acting odd when i move shrink-wrap to the top.
Like yours it was distorted but you seemingly fixed it with offset value
However mine is high in some places and low in others.
Also it doesn't react in the center so offsetting at all distorts the shape a ton!
Hi Jason,
The Shrinkwrap can be finnicky.
Try different Wrap Methods and Snap Modes (called Mode with some additional Settings for certain Modes in earlier versions) and check the Normals of both the Source and Target Mesh.
Sometimes, simply Scaling the Source Mesh up a bit, so it encompasses the Target Mesh completely can help.
If you can't fix it, please post a link to your .blend file, so we can have a look at what's causing it (and tell us what Blender Version you are using).
I did some adjusting with the scale, it seemed to help but some areas seem to be sharper which from what i heard isn't good to have lump areas around hard surface meshes right?
Should I send the blend file? How should I sent it?
If i change it more it seems it makes other areas sharper and some other areas to get bigger
Blender Version: 3.5.1
My Blend File(Google Drive Link)
The current state is before the shrink-wrap is moved above the subdivision.
I believe everything up to this point has been correct.
Hi Jason,
First of all thank you for providing the file.
I think the problem is the expectation you have. The two Meshes have Vertices in different positions and, if you. for instance try to Shrinkwrap a Cube to an Icosphere, the 8 Vertices of the Cube snap to the Surface (or Vertex, depending on the Mode) of the Icosphere:
Using a Subdivision Surface Modifier after that Shrinkwrap, will make the Cube more rounded, but not make it more like an Icosphere.
As the two Plane Meshes are already closer, the difference will be less extreme, but they can never become exactly the same with this method.
I think it works now :D
In the video he checked a "Keep above surface" option which i didn't see in my tool.
But it turns out i believe its now a snapping method option in the tool, switching that to "Above" fixed the weird bubble thing.
Also starting at 15:35 he starts working on the wheel hole insets.
Is his bottom reference undersized? Im looking at it and it looks like it is, everything is under the line art a good bit, just checking if im right about this.
To be honest i think its a great thing to have a student see it on their own as i did and work around it on their correct sized image :D
I wonder if he secretly planned this...
