A cartoon Airplane on SketchFab from Introduction to Hard Surface Modeling. Not completely finished with it, I want to improve the materials and add some more details as per Kent's livestream
I'm adding this to Polybooks but haven't found a way to be able to see all the Polybook posts in one place, to track progress like I can in My Projects

Thanks, yeah that was noticeable but I found I can't do much about it without adding more geometry and further distorting the rest of the plain. I tried many things but ended up just leaving it as is. It is something I will circle back on as there must be a way to stop the edge loops running all over the plane when adding more. I haven't figured that out yet but I'm sure I will and will fix later with the other things I want to do with it. Thanks
One thing I'd like to know is how do you call up all your posts in your Polybook posts?
Thanks Martin. In the 3rd filter I thought My Topics was the heading of the list of filters, not tan actual filter, lol. I was buzzing around that for awhile but dumb me didn't click on it just to see.
With the wings I tried using bevel weights in several ways, even using vertex groups for various edges to try and smooth out the rough spots. Creases with small values and I think a couple of other things but it gets more messier than what I have now. I spent quiet a bit of time trying to smooth it out but this was the best outcome I came up with so far and decided to leave it alone for awhile. Adding edge loops, which I think would work, just adds more geometry through the whole plane so I'll need to put a pole in there so the I can add edge loops just in the wings, so there will some wing surgery to come or just redo the wings.
But thanks guys for your analysis I'll need that more and more, it is appreciated.
You guys got me rethinking things, I was tired of going around this as many times as I had. So I checked out the wireframe on SketchFab and saw a lot of pinching and the paint was all wrong which I did fix so I think I also picked the wrong model to prepare for SketchFad to boot, lol. I remember I did fix the paint on the wings so it wasn't jagged and there were vertex groups I did remove previously that were there in this model (I was trying to keep more of an edge on the wings but I see now it looks okay without it anyway). I made several iterations of the model and went around and around trying to resolve the wings. I thank you guys because you seem to get my brain thinking like priming a stubborn rusty carburetor, so keep up the good work you're doing! 8^]
So I added a 3 edged destructive bevel parallel on those jagged edges to smooth them out, completely removed the vertex groups on the wing, cleaned up all the bev weights to all 0 and that seems to have done the trick and it fixed the paint on the wings so it's not jagged. The SketchFab model has been updated and awaiting further improvements when I circle back with Kent's livestream tutorial. I want to add the CG Cookie guy on there still. 8%]
Hi Martin. Is there a pilot to be made in Kent's livestream tutorial?
I believe this is the pilot:

Ooohh, I hadn't seen that course. So many great courses I keep finding.
Sculpting is my nemesis ands is something of a lower priority right now. But eventually I may take another crack at it,. it is a skill I want to develop but with the way my hands are, I have a hard time holding a stylus. I had to quit playing guitar which has been a depressing thing if I dwell on the problem, lol. ahhhh 8^]
Yep, understood. Sculpting for character modeling is going to be awhile for me but will dabble in it here and there. I like the edge modeling (I think that's what you call it) like was done for the Husky and will try to take that route as much and as far as I can. I can't see me sculpting to any degree that would be useable but we'll see.
