textures come out weird.

just got back to this lesson after finishing the hair chapter. i wanna fix/update my utility textures.

the first disp texture came out fine but the second came out with grid lines over it. i read in the commet section that baking in 3.2 will fix it but i cant even open the file in 3.2 its just crash a few seconds in.

as well as the pore texture. its comes with like white dots all over it.

i have been tweaking the model through the procress. could this be the problem?

Oh no, usually going back a few Blender versions fixes that problem, but in your case you can't do that. Dangs. How about going one or two versions before 3.2?Maybe in those it wont crash? And you'll be able to bake without problems?

    Hi Doran,

Could you provide a link to your .blend file with all Images included ( File > External Data > Pack Resources) please.

Or maybe try Appending the Head in 3.3 (or 3.2) instead of trying to open the file in 3.2, and then Bake.

thanks, appending it kinnda worked. there are some subtle lines but when it pluged into the material its unoticeable. i fixed the pore texture with photoshop.

i would really appreciate if u could still take a look on the blend file and maybe find out what was causing this so i would know to prevent it in the next project.

    Hm,

I'll do some more testing later on, but my guess is, that it's a Blender Version thing (bug?), not so much something that you've done wrong and could have avoided.

There is a (confirmed) bug report that mentions this issue for 3.5:

"Bake from Multires leads to inaccurate results #104134"

At least even in Hollywood productions they suffer from bugs that paralyzes productions, and I don't think they having millions and millions of dollars makes that much of a difference. Workarounds it's they way to go most of the time, and a sprinkle of patience and understanding.
