Learning something like Blender can be a real challenge. Sometimes that is exciting and sometimes it can be a real bear! So what keeps you going?
We are embarking on a campaign to help you commit to yourself and make a habit of learning by setting a goal that is challenging yet achievable. (Read more about daily practice, why it is important and how to make it stick).
One big bolster to those tough times is our community. We encourage you to set a goal for yourself and share it with the rest of us here. We are all in this together!
Here are some ideas of potential goals to get the wheels spinning:
So, what are you setting out to achieve and what helps you keep going?
LLoue that's a very noble comment, to be inspired to give back and pass on your knowledge to others.
For those who don't understand French:
"My goal is to become a Ui/Ux designer in the world of video games. 3d is essential for me and I think the reward will be the knowledge that I can share with other people."
Hi all. I want to be unlimited as an illustrator/animator and be able to contribute to the community of creatives.
My goal is to consitently practice 3 times a week for the next 8 weeks. Since I joined CG Cookie, I've gone through learning spurts and lately have been bad at letting other things take priority that don't always need to, (there are some exceptions). I work in an academic setting and primarily handle 3D questions/projects, etc. The more I practice here, the better I can assist students and faculty with their projects as needed. Being held accountable would greatly help keep me on track and I'm hoping setting it up and sharing it here will help with that.
I have always watched CG Cookie videos on YouTube. But I never took the time to realize that CG Cookie had a website offering complete courses on Blender. I just subscribed, and I am so excited to get started. I want to be able to model and animate with ease. I would like to master rigging, especially character rigging, and character animation.
I just join today but i believe i learned a lot from this web.
Thank you cgcookie for this opportunity... excited to weave these lessons into my stream of concurrent learning journeys. God Bless you for being a source of positive inspiration and resource for aspiring creatives. Excited to finally get back into conquering my fears and beginning to learn this powerful software. Can't wait to see where the gift of your generous springboard takes us and looking forward to see myself and others grow along the way.
i am trying to be the best animator in Nigeria a country trying to break into the animation industry ,I just started learning blender a last month so i feel very left behind in the whole 3d space and my what keeps me going is that one day i will be able to make the renders that i see that look so advance.
I'm just trying to beat the Gumball staff at their own game with a team of one and an ancient PC from Craigslist :).
What keeps me going is the hope to someday get out of my current profession and full time into 3D. I started using Blender about 18 months ago for designing and planning my companies projects for clients but struggle with getting past a certain point (boxy objects). Thought youtube etc would be enough but without any real structure and varying times to do stuff it doesn't seem to work. So I figured I give this a go, since I enjoyed the vids on youtube.
Plus so far I haven't been part of a community so I'm looking forward to that experience. :)
