Screen goes blank during Cycles render

Question

I am running Blender 3.5, recently installed on my new laptop. (it's a refurb Dell Precision, with an NVIDIA Quatro graphics card if it matters)

One thing it is doing that is annoying is when I render a picture in the Cycles renderer, the screen goes blank as it is rendering.

(sometimes black, sometimes white, sometimes with cursor visible, sometimes not)

It seems like the render is still running while the screen is blank.

Is it possible to stop it from doing this? What is causing this?

    Hi eerikitect ,

Have a look at this page, it will help you to understand better what is happening:

    https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/3.5/troubleshooting/gpu/windows/intel.html

Most often you need to update the graphics driver.

And like Markus Bergh already mentioned in another post, 2GB VRAM is not a lot and as far as I know, the Interface is being drawn with OpenGL, which is done on a Graphics Card.

But you can also set which graphics card to use for Rendering with Cycles in your Preferences:

Also just in case, it has happened to me once or twice that the latest video card driver comes funky with glitches, so what I do is reverse back at least one version. Newer versions tends to be buggy because they haven't have time to figure out the glitches while the one before they had everything nailed down and behaves better.
