'Proportional Editing' getting in the way

Question

Hello, When I got just to where we add the two circle face front buttons, I now have "proportional editing' turning on, even if I turn it off, edit or object mode. I've basically lost control of "proportional editing"--everything moves/scales around, when I just want to move or scale one object.

I'd like to turn off "proportional editing' and have it stay off. This has been a roadblock for me.

Hello. That isn't supposed to happen, doesn't sound like a bug either. Can you post some screenshots? Even better a video screen recording of the problem as it's happening. You can also upload your .blend file to see if we can replicate the problem and see how to solve it.

Thanks for being there--I solved it. I had turned on Proportional Editing at the top (bullseye icon), close by Snap. Why it was showing up in other dialogs. Now its off again.
