Remove components without destroying mesh

I'm trying to delete one of these faces I have selected to prevent overlap when beveling the top edge. However, I cannot delete any vertices without messing up the whole shape. I've tried dissolving and that doesn't work either. Any ideas? image.png

    Hi Jakob @Jakob Cone ,

I am not sure if I understand you corretly, but if you allow for the overlap to happen and then Merge the overlapping Vertices....is this what you are going for?

That is because you have a super big Ngon and everything falls apart when you delete a vertex. I think you can just delete the face, not the vertices. So go into face select and X delete face or only faces.

And if you simply want to make those two Faces you have selected into one Face, you can slide the middle Edge towards one of its neighbors and Merge by Distance.

And and and and if you want, you can select those two faces and F to make it into one face and then select the top and bottom vertices and dissolve them.
