This is driving me crazy.
The knife tool wont make a continuous cut through several edges, it breaks off and resets the tool each time I go beyond 1 edge, however in the haunted house tutorial on CG Cookie, homeboy slices and dices with ease.
Any idea as to why my knife sucks?

The Knife Tool certainly takes some getting used to.
I suggest you practice on the Default Cube, until you get the hang of it.

Yeah it's just knife tools quirks. Sometimes it doesn't know where to place edges with a cut and does some crazy things. It's just getting the hang of it and getting used to it, in time the more you use it you start to get ahead of the behavior and you know where to cut and how to fix things.
