Editing Bevel for buttons issues

posted to: Modeling the Sides
Hi all, at 6:48 ish when he moves one of the corner bevel lines up and snaps it to the other one then merges by distance, in my model its affecting the front face bevel and creating a 'nick' in the bevel.  Not an issue as I can just dissolve the edge instead and it does the same thing, but I'd like to know what I am doing wrong.

I worked it out that it wasn't merging when I used merge by distance.  Not sure why tbh.  I resolved this by going into vertices mode, selecting two vertices at a time and merging at centre instead.  Must be the way I've done my model somehow but it's all good now :)

    Hi Paul Umbrinox ,

If the Edges aren't Merging by Distance, it could be that they are too far apart; you can then increase the treshold (Merge Distance) a bit.

Yeah some times vertices are not aligned properly or not really one on top of the other. So you can either snap them into place with vertex snapping or as Martin says you can increase the threshold when merging in the adjust last operation panel.
