making an imprint of one object in another

Question Modeling

I scanned a head and now I want to deform it by pressing a different shape into it: like squeezing a solid object into a lump of clay, for example a brick.
Now I just did a test and put a cube in it with dynamic paint, but the result is very strange. It looks fragmented rather than squeezed in. Does anyone have an idea how to solve the problem? bject in another.jpg

    Try the Boolean Modifier...

Forget that, that won't do what you want...

Thanks, but I don't get the dynamic deformation with the boolean modifier. that's too static, too subtracted. I want it to look like I'm slamming one object into the other.

Maybe go in a totally weird direction and use cloth sim? You can make the head like a tough rubber and slam a sculpted lumpy sphere into it?

It should be possible, maybe using a Softbody for the head and a Rigidbody for the collision object...?

Thanks for the keywords, looks like it will help me:
