Install application template does not include my new pencil

After installing the application template,  I see the 2D Illustration workspace and my palette and the materials, but the brush is set to pencil instead of the graphite pencil that I created.  Currently, I need to go in and switch the brush to my now preferred brush.

Maybe you need to do the File -> Defaults -> Save startup, in order for your brush to be the default one. I'm not sure though, just a suggestion.

Question, did you pin your graphite material to the Pencil Graphite?

Hi gail. As suggested above, try the following: Open your new 2D illustration preset. Make sure your Illustration Template GP file is selected, and that you are in draw mode. Select the brush you wish to have active when you start this preset. Then go to File>>Defaults>>Save Start Up File. Let me know if this works!

Thank you to all three of you for your quick and helpful responses. I now have a startup file with the 2D Illustration workspace and my pencil, palettes and materials ready to go.

I was running into the same issue when creating the Application Template so that the stroke is basically white on a white background (no stroke texture). Make sure to "File -> External Data -> Pack Resources" into the startup file so that the startup file does no longer rely on the Graphite1.png as an external resource.

All in all ppcaggegi, a nice trick! Thanks for sharing the idea to have multiple startup configs!
