Disappearance of references

Question

Somehow my references disappeared during loop cut, Blender didn't crash.

I have my reference collection with all the elements inside, I enable the selection and still nothing appears on my screen during edit mode or object mode. I also tried it with the viewport screen icon in the collections panel. My view is in viewport shading mode.

Maybe I mistyped a letter when using ctrl + r

Maybe this is unchecked:

This happens when you Add an Image as Background Image, while in Orthographic view and is actually a good thing.

Thanks for answering me, Martin!

I was able to solve it, I checked and unchecked the "exclude from view layer" box, after that they reappeared.

I will follow your recommendation to be able to see the references only in orthographic view.

That sounds like a glitch then. If you had to check and uncheck the box that nukes things out of existence and then it magically started working again. Might have to take that one into account for future problems. This Blender version is full of bugs.
