im trying to texture a charcter eye (right) but for some reason the transmition behaving weird.
i have appanded an eye i made a while ago (left) for comparsion. in both of them i use the same technique but for some reason it doesnt work on the "new" eye. the geometry in both of the is roughly the same. only differrence is that the "new" eye is unwrapped, thats why i dont want to just replace it.

The only thing I can think of is the placement of your geometry in that second eye that is not showing through. Maybe move it a little bit back and forth and see if it works? Also Go into edit mode, check that your normals are not all backwards and in red with the overlays and shift + N to recalculate. Maybe you have double faces in there and that is why the light is not going through?
thanks but the problem was that in the properties tab on the iris under ray visibility the transmission was ticked off
