Just a reminder about the "Curve" Stroke Method

posted to: Detailing the Eyes

Since I keep redoing this section of the class (This time, I am saving the Shape Key adjustments for the very last of the texturing phase due to constantly exploding data), I thought I would pop up a reminder about the different types of "Stroke Methods".  It makes things like "tightening" the ledge of the eye soooo much easier!! I don't end up with a bumpy result!!!

In case you forgot how to do it, once you set your Stroke Method to Curve, add a new curve, hold CTRL and Right Click and Drag to set the points of your curve.  You can select your points and/or handles and adjust them after they are created but remember you have to use the hotkey "G" to move them.  You can't just "tweak" them.  REMEMBER:  DO NOT MOVE YOUR SCREEN WHEN USING THE CURVE -  The curve does not stay oriented to the view.   For instance, I went into front orthographic mode, zoomed into my eye (with symmetry enabled), created my curve, selected all my points with "A" then hit the "Enter" key to apply the stroke, moved my mouse out of the window - so the curve would disappear and I could see my results.  Decided I needed to apply the stroke again as it wasn't strong enough.  Moved my mouse back into the window so the curve reappeared.  Since all points were still selected I hit "Enter" again.  Checked my work and Voila!!!   PERFECT!!!

Hope this helps someone.
