Normals and Shading/lighting issues

Question Modeling

I am exporting a Blender model to use in another software tool. When I export as a .gltf the lighting is 180 degrees off (areas that should be light are dark etc)? I have realigned the normals to make them all correct and now I dont know what to do and could really use assistance! Thank you!

    Hi John 3DLamps ,

I have never used glTF, but there was an issue with the camera and light direction, that has been fixed in 3.3 LTS:

Don't know if this has anything to do with your issue, but if you are not already using it, you could try switching to Blender 3.3.

    Hi Martin,

Thank you for the reply. I am currently running Blender 3.3.1.

I am new pretty new to Blender and, admittedly much of what the image shows is totally 'greek' to me. Are those fixes in the latest version of Blender?

Thanks again, If images would help I can upload them.

    John

If you're already using 3.3, then it is probably not this fixed bug.

I have really no experience with exporting and importing, but could it be an issue with the other software's  glTF importer?

Of course it could also be a Setting in Blender's glTF exporter.

I honestly have no idea and hope someone else can answer this.

I also have no idea. That is always such a pain, when I import or export, I always end up manually fixing a thing or two. If you find a solution, you can share it so next time we all know. Thanks John.
