can a randomly generated Geometry Nodes object be used to define a camera path?

Question Modeling

What I am thinking of doing, for instance, is creating a randomly-generated model building, I the artist don't know what the final shape will look like because it contains randomization, and then have a moving-camera shot through the interior hallway of that building.

Can this be done?

I bet it can be done yes, I don't know enough about Geometry Nodes though. The next two courses that are coming to CG Cookie, one is entirely about Geometry Nodes, top to bottom explaining it all and the other one touches upon modeling simple buildings that can be randomly generated. You're in luck.

    Hmmm, interesting problem eerikitect ...

My guess is, that it will be possible (but probably not straightforward).

Maybe (just some first ideas I'd try) if you can extract the information where the corridor is, you can make an Attribute (IsCorridor) and use that as Weight in a Shortest Path Node and then turn that into a Curve and use that as an Output and have a Follow Path Constraint on the Camera, using that Curve...It is very dependant on how the building is generated. (Also, you won't know how long the corridor will be, so how long will the animation be...)

The important thing is, to animate the Camera outside of the GN Tree, or it won't actually be moving.
