Why is my texture dark?

Hi there

Just been texturing painting the longboard and I'm wondering why my longboard looks darker than Jonathan's. I know it's not the brightness of my screen as I've loaded his finished version in and it appears brighter (see below).

Does it has something to do with my darker base colour influencing the stencil? Any ideas?

All the best

I think it has to do with the color management. JL explains it in this video:

Perhaps you're doubly applying the color management when you import the texture into Blender. Maybe try changing it from Filmic to Standard. If not maybe in the N Panel of the menu where you're at, in the uv unwrap, it could also be that the UV's are obscuring your image? In your viewport it looks fine, so it has to do with how the UV editor is displaying it.

Appreciate that Omar. I realised though that actually the white wasn't a true white. Had to change the colour value of the texture brush right up. Haha, thanks though for helping out!!
