You don't give much information to go on. When you select the object do the edges highlight in yellow? Have you tried selecting it through the object>transform>rotate menu? If you are using hot keys is the curser in the 3d viewport when you press the key? Pretty much just a shot in the dark here. ;)

Sorry for the lack of information, I wasn't sure what would be needed so this was a start. Anyway, the problem seems to have been corrected, probably by a restart. Should have tried a restart before asking. Mark
