its happens with some object and with some of em not.

im using 3.2.2.
thanks
Well doran,
first of all, thanks for the file!
The good news is: it's not your laptop that's causing the crash.
But I cannot (yet?) find what makes the Pot different, that causes Blender to crash when Texture Painting.
I tried different Blender versions (up till 3.4). I tried Appending the Pot in an empty Blender Scene. Applying and removing the Modifier. Not using a Texture. And many more...it still crashes Blender!
The file won't even open in Blender 2.93.5. Crashes immediately! There is a crash text written, but that doesn't help me:
I investigated the Mesh, but cannot (yet?) find anything wrong with it.
Sorry.
thanks :)
any suggestion on remodeling base on the object i already have?
ive done changes that not on the course to the whole model and if i just go back to the lessons it wont match my current model.
It seems it may be related to the texture and/or material.
I created a new material, a new texture, and in the shader editor linked the new texture up to the pot's material. It works now.
NM. It works for a little bit, then crashes. Not much of an improvement.
I have found a hack, that seems to work. Follow these exact steps in this order (don't know if it makes a difference, but be on the safer side). Starting from the file you provided:
Switch to Object Mode.
Select the pot.
Remove the Vertex Group and add a new Vertex Group (press minus and then plus). No need to re-name it or anything.
Select the head 2 and do the same; remove the Vertex Group and add a new one.
Select the pot and SHIFT Select the head 2.
Join the Objects with CTRL+J.
Now you can switch to Texture Paint Mode and start painting...if you are lucky...
Sometimes this doesn't work and you lose some Faces when you Join the two....In that case: Close Blender and open it again and repeat the above steps. It seems to work most of the times, I tried it. No re-modeling needed.
I hope this helps.
That's quite an issue! Nice job finding a workaround spikeyxxx! Were you able to also report it as a bug? If not, I can do that later, since it looks like something that really should be fixed.
@jlampel I haven't reported it yet, because I do not know what is causing it...It seems to be only with that specific Object and I couldn't find anything 'wrong' with it, although it crashes (with Texture Painting in the 3DViewport, which uses projection painting, I believe...painting in the Image Editor didn't cause a crash)) in every version since 3.0 and I couldn't even open the file in 2.93...
I think it might have something to do with the Normal Data Transfer trick...he maybe has done something wrong there...
If you can file a bug report that makes sense, I'd appreciate it!
