gravity for sculpting/facial features

Hi Kent, hope all is well. Have you tried gravity applied to your brush strokes? If yes, what was the outcome?  (I haven't tried it/not sure how to use it) Many thanks https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/sculpt_paint/sculpting/tool_settings/options.html

I would also like to know the answer to that. I didn't know gravity could be applied to a brush in sculpt mode. I bet the brush would pull down.

You might try that...the thing is, you lose some sculpting control...and fat pads might sag down due to gravity and the skin losing elasticity, it is not a simple 'pulling down'...I prefer to do it manually and get the result I expect, but, by all means: experiment and let us know how it works out for you (it is rather intuitive...just don't set the influence too strong!).

bitey That's a great question. I have not implemented the gravity function in my workflow yet. Call it a case of "can't teach an old dog new tricks" 😅

Admittedly the longer I do CG, the more comfortable I get with my tried-and-true techniques and less eager to try new tools. The gravity function sounds like it could be useful though also a bit gimmicky imo. Without having tried it, I tend to agree with Martin that it takes some control from me. But also it could work beautifully.

I strongly encourage you to try it and see what you think! Also a note to self: Try the gravity function already.
