Hi,
Was wondering if you all have given a thought about doing a tutorial on creating realistic roadways including intersections. It could include how to create the various roadway striping, like dash lines, edge lines and stop bars. Another great feature would be modeling the raised curbing and center medians we find on many roadways. Lastly it could even be based on a reference photograph (like Google Earth).
Could be a good lead into a course on modeling a scene with streetlights, traffic lights and other environmental stuff.
Just an idea.
Thanks for your time
Hello Donald. I think that is a great idea, I would see that tutorial. And if it was based on my country, you'd have to put cars trying to merge changing lanes, shouting bad words at each other, a fire truck and an ambulance rushing to some place and a tail of cars riding behind them, taking advantage of their free unimpeded pass, taxi drivers picking up passengers right in the middle of the streets, motorcycles trying to do wheelies, pedestrians crossing a junction ignoring the pedestrian red light and crossing when the light for cars is green, stray dogs trying to cross the streets and stopping traffic, and so many other wonderful things. So yeah, that would be a cool tutorial. I don't know if you're on CG Cookie's Discord, but you can head over there and talk ideas with people too. In the top menu here, in the Community tab there is the Discord Channel option .
