Panning in the Shading Editor

Question

Hello,

I am trying to navigate the shading editor window but I cannot seem to pan around with the middle mouse button. I have enabled "Emulate 3 Button Mouse" to try using "Alt+LMB" but that does not work either.

I am able to pan around the viewport just fine.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you, Richard

Hi Richard  @Kno0ne , that is very strange; do you get a Pan "clue" at the bottom ? If not try using the Factory Settings (maybe it's an Addon that's overriding the MMB  Pan functionality...):

I Reset to defaults and I am still not getting the pan option.Screenshot (6).png

Please make sure that all your drivers are up to date. Windows doesn't always do that automatically if I remeber correctly.

It's weird, it doesn't even mention 'Pan View' after the MMB icon....

You could also try Blender 3.2, but I am not very confident that that would make a difference (worth a try though).

    Hey @Kno0ne

Looking at your outliner window, the icon next to the camera is highlighted as well as the console. Try deselecting everything in the 3d viewport and selecting only the console, maybe Blender is confused some how.

Also try saving your work, closing Blender, and then re-open the file.

    Little quirks happen sometimes.

@adrian2301 the highlight next to the Camera just means that that is the Active Camera, used for Rendering, as you can see when you have more than 1 Camera in your Scene:
