Problem with bump layer on pot handle

Hi Jonathan,

I'm having a strange problem when trying to paint the bump layer on the pot handle.  When I selected the pot handle I noticed I don't have a Principled BSDF on the pot handle layer (see attached picture).  When I try to paint damage on that layer, it just paints a color instead of  damage.

How do I get the BSDF to appear on that layer, or what setting am I missing?  Worse case scenario I can just leave the handle undamaged (I painted the fading onto the handle already), but I hate doing that unless I have no choice.

Thanks for any help you can give!

    Hi ddemidog

You either deleted the Principled BSDF, or just lost it. Press A, with your mouse over the Shader Editor to select all the Nodes and then hit the Home Key, or the Period  Key on your Numpad to show all the Nodes and then you can connect the Bump Node to the Principled BSDF, if it exists, or add a new one with SHIFT+A > Shader > Principled BSDF.

Then go into Material Preview (or Rendered View) to see the effect (you probably need to dial back the Strength of your Bump Node!).

That worked great, thank you!  Seems they were just hidden way off to one side, but hitting the home key found them.
