New Project Blargh's Out. . .

Question

Hi CGCookie team.

I just tried to upload the results of my animated render of the Press Start tutorial.  It should have a YouTube link.  It's giving a 500 blargh. "Blargh, appears to be a glitch"

I can't open it to edit it to correct the issue.

Edit: When you click on the project, that is.  The preview looks just fine.

Trying to edit the question I got a 400, page doesn't exist.

    Hey wardred,

The result is the same for me also, only the preview in the gallery. When clicking to enter the project it returns a error.

Are not able to edit the project, either via the gallery or your dashboard?

    Thanks @adrian2301,

I don't see a way to edit or delete the project without opening it.  It Blargh's out when I open it.

    • 🤔 hmm

@wesburke, I have been trying to resolve this issue, we are seeing a 500 error page when trying to view the project in the gallery, and unable to edit the project.

Any clue what is happening here?

    Solution

Hey wardred, thanks for bringing it up, and apologies for the initial delay getting back to you. Herm, I'm not entirely sure what was happening there. I was able to edit the project by appending /edit/ to the end of the Gallery project URL, but it didn't seem to like the YT short link, corrupting the URL.

I was able to remove it. If you're able could you attempt to re-create, it and see if it works without the YT shorts link. I'm curious if our site just doesn't know what to do with that format, so it freaks out. :)

    Thanks @WesBurke!

Good to know about the edit URL, and that maybe YouTube Shorts for whatever reason work differently than YouTube proper.  It seems to work as a link instead of a video.

One thing I still had trouble doing was editing the project text.  I was able to hit edit and get to the screen to change my text, but when I attempted to submit it gave a 400.  I just added my edit to the comment instead, but that maybe something worth looking at.

I'm currently on Firefox in Ubuntu 18.04.

    Thanks again!

    Edit: And thanks @adrian2301 too!
