Rendering layers Issue: Where did all the layers go?

Question Animation

I'm a noob to compositing.

I tried to follow this tutorial on compositing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIZrTXtyQkY&t=1008s&ab_channel=CGBoost.

What I did:

1. Make layers for each collection.

2. I clicked Render Animation as I usually do, and it looked like it was rendering all layers, but when I looked at the file output, it only rendered out only the one layer in which I was looking at.

Playing the tutorial a bit more, apparently I would have to render out all the layers again as such:Screen Shot 2022-04-04 at 15.26.20.png

But if there is a way to retrieve those other layers which Blender rendered out the first time without rendering all over again, I would take it.

    I'm afraid not.

The only thing you can do for future reference is add a render layer node for each layer with the file output node for each, as you have, prior to the first render. This way you only need to render animation once.

    Hope this helps!
