When I move my mouse as described at 1:20 after selecting 'Inset faces', absolutely nothing happens. I'm on version 2.78, is the video just out of date or is this a bug? By the way, on the video I don't see dots on the faces when, (I think) the tutor is in face mode. I there some subtle adjustment I need to make related to this that would bring my Mac back in line?
