visual bug when trying to paint on Axe Detail layer (3.0)

When I tried to start working on the wood grain texture all of my strokes have a white outline on. Only strokes on portions of the texture that are still transparent have it. If I draw over a stroke that has the glitch, the areas where they intersect will no longer have the outline. I guess it has something to do with the alpha layer? Changing falloff and strength doesn't do anything. In the uv view, it looks fine.

Any fixes would be much appreciated. I'm using version 3.0.

    I've seen that happen in solid view, but it looks like you're in material preview? One thing you could try is changing the texture's filtering from Linear to Bicubic.

    Hi there, I’m having this issue as well. I changed from Linear to cubic on the Axe Base Details node, if that’s what you meant above. But still the white appears around the edges. Any other suggestions? Thanks

    Ok I did some digging. Instead ‘cubic’ choose ‘closest’. That seems to fix it. Don’t know why though, and not sure about the potential consequences of doing this.
