ANNOUNCEMENTS
sshanr Yes we will publish livestream recordings here (usually within 48 hours of broadcast)
Just spotted the 2021 final render video and my vase sitting outside the house; with the sci-fi theme having a personal appeal for me this definitely seems like something I'd be interested in joining also. Might be up for taking on a slightly more complex part this time around as well, though I'd need to balance that against the lack of official feedback in the Shell team (I don't doubt there will be plenty of community feedback however).
Looking at the submission form, I notice the skill level question cuts the description for intermediate off at "The expectation is that" - could you elaborate on this? Also I've seen a couple of different deadlines for application around: this thread says May 1st but https://cgcookie.com/p/collab-2022 says June 30th. Which would be the correct date?
Hey hunter-x,
It'll be great to have you back in collab2022,
Sorry for the confusion, the deadline has now change to May 1st due to high numbers of early applications, the core team is limited to 30 and has proved to be extremely popular.
I am sure you understand the need to limit the number of members requiring feedback from Kent, given the time it takes to review work and prepare for the live stream each week, as well as over seeing the project as a whole.
The shell team will not be left completely alone, the team leaders, fellow collaborator's and the CG Cookie community are on hand for guidance through out collab2022.
Get that application in soon!
@theluthier, I don't have access to the application form, can you explain the skill level question.
I have changed the application date to May 1st on the Collab2022 page.
hunter-x "The expectation is that...."
You mean you don't like a good cliff-hangar?? Lol what an omission on my part 🤦♂️I will update the application accordingly:
My expectation with the intermediates is that they've used Blender for 1-2 years and are plenty familiar with UI, tools, modeling workflow and terminology. Usually for intermediates, using Blender isn't a challenge like it is for beginners. Rather the challenge is refining their artistry and execution.
PS: I see your application! Expect an email this week sometime :)
