hey for for putting the barrel whole around 2:20, I am having a little trouble on understanding how you did it

The hole in the barrel was created using a circle object, extruding and scaling the verts in edit mode, then adding a boolean modifier to the barrel part.

I had a similar issue trying to figure out how the barrel was done and finally see what he did.
1) He selected all of the back vertices
2) Went back into front facing mode (excuse my lack of correct terminology) where you can't exactly tell that you have the back vertices selected and this where you extrude. We extrude at this particular angle to keep the appropriate axis you want the extrusion on (like a perfect cylinder). This is where I was trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.
The important part here is to extrude but do not move - Hit "e" and click to be done with extruding, then hit "s" scale immediately. Just be careful with creating duplicate vertices here (easy to do as a beginner).
This makes sense after understanding what we are trying to do, but was tricky at first as to why we are doing it this way for me.
