First of all just wanted to say hi to everyone :)
I'm aware that CGCookie have recently migrated to the Mavenseed platform, and have noticed a bit of a change in how things are generally structured. I really liked the learning flow options previously offered - I know that these are being replaced with the playlists which I think are a great idea - however just having completed a couple fundamental tutorials there was a mesh modelling learning flow I was super excited to get into and cannot seem to find anymore. Similar to the Mesh Modelling Bootcamp, however it delved a little further.
I can find a couple of the singular tutorials on the site still but cannot remember exactly which courses were included... I know it started with some modelling basics stuff and moved into some more advanced stuff like the sci-fi hatch, wall of mailboxes, some character modelling... would love to know if there were any plans on this coming back in playlist form or if anyone could remember what the structure of this course was and what was included - I was super keen to get into it! Loving the tutorials I've tried out so far btw :)
Thanks
Hi @costanza ,
The learning flows as you are aware have changed name to playlists, you can now create your own playlist to structure your learning to your needs as an alternative to the suggested playlists.
Like you, I can't remember exactly which courses were in the mesh modelling learning flow. Here are the links to the courses you mentioned.
modeling-and-animating-a-sci-fi-hatch
and some others I think may have been in the mesh modelling learning flow or you maybe interested in.
modeling-a-post-apocalyptic-vehicle
introduction-to-character-modeling
hard-surface-sculpting-and-retopology
introduction-to-hard-surface-modeling
These are all older courses using previous versions of Blender, which mat not be ideal for the complete beginner, which maybe why they were removed from the playlists.
It seems the category selection list is broken also, I will report this issue and when it is fixed, will assist you in finding what you need.
Happy Blending!
Hi Adrian, just wanted to say thanks for your help :)
I've created a few playlists using the courses you linked, plus some others I found searching through the site. I've tried to arrange them from beginner to advanced using the older modelling series as a template, but also including some newer tutorials using more up-to-date versions of blender.
Here are the links for the playlists I've made for myself to follow, in case anyone else may be interested - but as mentioned above some of these lessons use previous Blender versions, so if you are new to Blender be aware that there may be some techniques or shortcuts that have been since updated. Cheers!
