Hi Kent,
Thanks so much for sharing this course with us. It's truly amazing!
Im running in some problems though. Do you know why my mesh is deforming the way it is? When I turn multires off it disappears and looks fine, until I turn multires back on. Every time it happens after I make some miniscule changes to my base mesh to organize the edges around the eye (just moved around some vertexes, didn't add or subtract any).
I'm struggling with this already for a few days and everytime I delete the multires (got rid of all the details I've drawn) and go back to my original retopo to start over. But it keeps happening , always where I've made some changes to my mesh - I mean sometimes after I made changes not all the time. How is that possible? Because you're able to edit the mesh of your character
Unfortunately multires is prone to such artifacts. It happens regularly to me too - even in the course you'll see me fix a similar artifact here. However after years of familiarity with multires, these glitches have never been a show-stopping issue. I wonder if it's because I try to avoid switching up and down between multires layers very much.
So let me ask: Do you switch multires levels often?
Thanks for the quick reply and video ref. Guess I'm switching quite frequent between the levels... I haven't really payed attention to that. Gonna keep an eye on it to see if that makes much difference. For sure it happens after I make edits on the mesh.
Smoothing the mesh in this case does't work. I can smooth everything out, but once I go to a different shapekey or mr-level it reappears :((
Thanks again for the quick reply and amazing tutorial series
