For some reason my 3D cursor always gets placed where all the axis intersect. I have set the transform pivot point to median point, selected the head in object mode, hit shift+s and selected snap cursor to selected. How do I fix this?
Your Head's Origin is at the center of the World:
You can set your Origin here:
and then you can:
which will result in:

Remember, in object mode 'cursor to selected' will locate the cursor to the origin point for the object,
not the median point of the selected, like in edit mode.
Unless of course you have two or more objects selected.
