upload gif from giphy

Contests and Challenges

I used giphy to create the gif.  I am trying to post it in the gallery and it appears to just sit there trying to add.  I have waited a couple minutes.  I am trying to add it as a video.  Would someone please give me an idea of what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Have you tried adding it as a picture?

Angela is right, a Gif is a picture\image.

spikeyxxx @Angela  I know I am just being dumb, but this where I am stuck.  Giphy has a. url that it gives you, for the work in progress I just pasted that in the url in. the image, it worked great (followed spikey's advice for that0.  In the gallery I only see the option to upload and image and not the paste the url option.  Thanks for the help.

ttanya I didn't make a Gif on Giphy (didn't want to create an account), but on an existing Gif, I can right-click and 'Save as Image'. That saves it to my hard disk and then just upload the image to the Gallery.

spikeyxxx thanks.   With some googling I figured out how to download it to my laptop, save it and upload the. image to the gallery.  I couldn't have the gif be the cover, the animation was horrid, but it worked if it wasn't the cover, so I must still be doing something wrong in the process, but since it works if you click on it, I'm leaving it the way it is.   Again thanks for all the help, have a nice Christmas.

one last question since the image size was 480. x 270 for the gif, is that what I should set it up for in blender instead of the 1920 x 1080, would it give me a better idea of what it would look like?

You could do that of course, it might be easier to see to end result...but is the image size for the Gif set for you when making it with Giphy?

On Ezgif, the Gif that you create is the same size as the render, then afterwards you can scale it down (to reduce filesize...) if you want. (And you don't need an account to make a Gif...)

spikeyxxx maybe I'll just change. to ezgif.  I'll have to check where the. image size changed. I have bad internet so Giphy would timeout, so uploaded to youtube to gipphy to laptop to gallery.   Thanks again.
