Hi, can you use bake normals to create an alpha for sculpting? So you could create like a bas relief on a model?
Yes, you sure can! Perfect example of a good use case. I wouldn't use an actual alpha channel though as that sometimes causes problems.
Thanks, will this stamp affect actual geometry on a subdivided mesh, or it it just a visual shader thing?
Ok maybe this isn’t the right place to ask but how do I create an alpha image from a 3D object to sculpt and create a 3D printable bas relief, using Blender? Like the new bas relief tool in Zbrush. Thanks
