First attempt. Just animation 101, nothing fancy.
Converted with GIMP. Lots of compression artifacts due to too much detail. I probably need to rethink "simpler". Jerky due to low frame rate (to fit in CGC file size) - needs to be optimized.
But at least the basic concept works, and the pipeline steps work.
Tweaked to 100 frames @ 20 FPS. Also turned off PNG compression, since GIF will compress again.
Slightly rough, but I think I will call it done on this one.
Final file size is 6 MB, greater than CGC "attached file" limit of 5 MB, but apparently OK for an image (?).
Toyed with a radically different concept. Still needs a lot of refinement... It was a fun exercise whether it gets used or not.
I like this a lot!
Its a very good idea for a Gif.
Anything over 5MB may give you an error when trying to post it.
The next part of this challenge, new year celebration, I tried posting a Gif that was 8MB I think, and it rejected it.
So I needed to do some optimizing.
But I have seen still renders that have a high file size, and load very slowly.
I would think when CGCookie migrates to Mavenseed in the near future this maybe improved.
